How do I clear items in web search?

List is getting long and I want to start a new string of items in a search. How do I clear items in web search?
You need to clear or disable Auto Complete. This saves all previous searches in your search bar. Here's how to fix the problem:

For Internet Explorer: Click on Tools. Then Internet Options. Click on Content and then Auto Complete. Then click on Clear Forms. This will erase your search history. If you don't want things showing up again in your search history then deselect the Auto Complete options at the top. Be sure to select apply or ok at the bottom. How do I clear items in web search?
That is part of the autofill feature that can be turned off in options.

In IE go to internet options/ content/ autocomplete/ settings/ forms.

In Firefox go to options/ privacy/ history/ remember what I enter in forms and the search bar.

You can also delete the entries by double clicking on an empty box, drop down to the first item, and then press delete for each entry.

usually when you go to type something into the search bar if you've typed it in before it pops up on the bottom before your done typing it and you can click on it and it pops up but on most search bars underneath what you previously typed is 2 options. clear recent searches and remember recent searches. click clear and they are gone:)
